A dirty and stained A4 sheet of paper, printed with purple images and text in a monospaced font. A logo including a sun, with an ocean wave cresting inside it, in a shape vaguely reminiscent of a tongue ringed by sharp teeth. A large headline reading Last Resort News Report with the tagline Where Else Would You Want To Go? and the date June 2nd, Year 2
Body text, headline in all caps: Cosy Campfire
With winter here again and the harvest in, it’s time to cuddle up and wait out the cold months once more! This year, Tara and Frank will be taking over hosting duties, so that the scout trio can relax when at home and attend to their duties without feeling like they’re abandoning the rest of us!
This is just a nice place to hang out and stay warm on a cold night, though, so if anyone else wants to come by and play some music or tell a story, feel free!
Headline in all caps: Building Up
Another change that comes with the end of harvest is our chance to get started on our new wall, complete with cabins and storage spaces! To protect against burrowing critters, we need to start low before we build high, so the first step is digging out a long trench across the peninsula! Once we’re down to rock or hard packed clay, we’ll build up more storage space as a foundation for (new column) our protective new edifice!
Of course, there’s a lot of dirt to move before that’s done, so let’s get started! Some of the dirt will help to make parts of our farm more fertile, and we’ve got uses in mind for whatever else we might dig out, but the most useful thing we’ll get is a hole lot of space! Working in winter may make for more rainy days when we can’t work, but cold, clear days are much better for a hard day’s work than the heat of summer!
Headline in all caps: Pot Committed
Speaking of uses for what we can dig from the earth, we are pleased to announce the selection of our new master potter! Red Carroll, of Cabin 8, demonstrated a knack for shaping clay and the requisite responsible nature for a role that will involve gathering resources beyond the wall. Be sure to wish em luck in eir role, and let’s all look forward to more containers and tools around the Resort soon!
