A dirty and stained A4 sheet of paper, printed with purple images and text in a monospaced font. A logo including a sun, with an ocean wave cresting inside it, in a shape vaguely reminiscent of a tongue ringed by sharp teeth. A large headline reading Last Resort News Report with the tagline Where Else Would You Want To Go? and the date April 7th, Year 2
First column, headline in all caps: Potato Portage
The potato harvest, our main source of carbs year round, is upon us! This year, we’ll be filling two root cellars, given the sterling work all of the attendees at our root cellar dig put in last week!
As well as digging, washing and transporting the crop, we also need some hands to help peel and chop a couple of barrowfuls for Eli and his apprentice Ahmed! Our stock of medical ethanol is a little low after trading so much to the Duchy, so a big brew is in order!
Headline in all caps: Long Sailing
There have been concerns in the community about the crew of the Aqua Lust, which went north on a fishing trip last week. While they are late to return, there are a lot of possible reasons for such a delay. Our scouts will head north along the coast, to check that they haven’t had to come ashore for unknown reasons, but they should be fine for another week with the food supplies they had.
Sailing, or any expedition (second column) away from the Resort, will always be a calculated risk, and delays are always going to fill those of us left behind with apprehension for our loved ones, but our crew have experience and grit on their side!
Headline in all caps: Mentioning Maturity
It’s nearly time for our annual blade ceremony! The council have asked us all to remind you that if you have any information that might influence their picks, you should reach out to a member of the council! Obviously they would prefer to hear suggestions from people who aren’t family or cabinmates of the candidate but that will depend on the suggestion being made! The council can’t see all the good or bad actions of our prospective adults, so hearing from the rest of the community is a big help in making sure that those we honour are ready for the responsibility, and that we honour all those who are ready!
