A dirty and stained A4 sheet of paper, printed with purple images and text in a monospaced font. A logo including a sun, with an ocean wave cresting inside it, in a shape vaguely reminiscent of a tongue ringed by sharp teeth. A large headline reading Last Resort News Report with the tagline Where Else Would You Want To Go? and the date March 10th, Year 2.
Body text, headline in all caps: Fei-Go-A
Harvest time is here again! Time for us to work hard in the fields and orchards, and learn important things! This year one of the most vital things we’ve learned is that we might have gone a little overboard with the feijoa bushes when we were planting a couple of years back!
The little green eggs are falling from the bushes in surprising numbers, and we need some extra hands in the kitchen scooping the flesh and slicing the skins for preservation. If you want an inside job with only a little heavy lifting (some of those baskets are packed!) then we need your help!
Other fruits and veges also need our attention, and we are going to be rushed off our feet over the next two months as everything comes ripe! Remember to hydrate regularly and don’t forget to get all your empty jars and such back to the kitchen! We’ve got a lot of things to preserve for the winter!
New column, headline in all caps: Fancy Thank You
Our work last harvest laying up lots of spare food has had another result, apart from keeping our bellies full – the Duchy has delivered an extremely fancy thank you note! An IOU might be a better description – we’ve got some Old World stainless steel on our way as repayment for all our help with their recent illness issue!
The thank you note is being displayed under a plate of glass in the dining hall for now, so go take a look if you want to see how our southern friends do important documents! It’s on parchment, not paper, in extremely fancy penwork, another reminder of the way our little communities are all diverse, and all that we have in common, like gratitude!
As for the stainless steel, we already have plans for that – apparently it’s vital for some of the more interesting ways of producing chemicals like medicines! Just another thing we can reclaim from the Old World to make our lives better!
